How long have you been running?

I started running back in 2008 because I didn’t want to spend money on a gym membership. I went from an elliptical to the road and never looked back.

Please list your favorite races and PRs

My favorite race was the Gunstock half marathon but I had to put trail running on the back burner.

My best and only marathon time was in December 2016 at the Honolulu Marathon. I ran 4:18 only 16 months after having triplets.

My best half marathon time was at the Hapalua in April 2017. I ran 1:53, breaking the World Record for fastest half marathon time with a triple stroller.

What are your 2017 Racing plans and running goals?

Depending on how my year goes, I would like to be the first to complete a marathon pushing triplets. If that doesn’t come together by December, I would like to have a Boston qualifying time. I’m also considering the Xterra later this year.

Any “bucket list” races?

I would like to run the Ottawa Marathon, both Maui Marathons and Disney.

What is your average weekly mileage?

I run 4-5 times a week with my 130 lbs triple stroller. Approximately 35 miles weekly.

What is your favorite workout?

I love running up Kuliouou for a good trail run. I also enjoying running at Ala Moana Beach Park.

Favorite pre-race/post-race foods

Oatmeal before a race and an acai bowl after a race.

What is the piece of running gear/food/drink that you cannot go without?

I can’t live without my Lululemon running gear (since 2005!), my Garmin and my iTouch.

What is your favorite running moment or running quote?

“Run like there is a HOT guy in front of you and a CREEPY guy behind you.”

“If I see you collapse, I’ll pause your Garmin.”

“Run faster, Kenyans are stealing your beer.”

Describe your running before HRL and after

Prior to HRL, I didn’t have a plan. I would run unrealistic distances without giving myself a break and it has resulted in injury. Most recently, I hit a wall and wasn’t seeing the improvements I was hoping for. HRL has also forced me to train harder but also to rest!

Why does training with Hawaii Running Lab work for you?

I love having a plan with focus and purpose behind it. It allows me to see my goals on paper and how to achieve them. It also gives me flexibility to work training into my busy life.
