How long have you been running?
9 years, but only 5 months since I got back into it.
Please list your favorite races and PRs.
I run 5ks the most due to our fitness test requirements, but I like triathlons, and am slowly leaning towards endurance. My PRs are still slow.
What are your 2017 Racing plans and running goals?
Complete the Honolulu Marathon! My first marathon!
Any “bucket list” races?
Ironman Kona 70.3/140.6 someday I think.
What is your average weekly mileage?
What is your favorite workout?
Track/tempo workouts are hard, but fun. Endurance workouts are growing on me.
Favorite pre-race/post-race foods?
BURGERS and all of the junk I shouldn’t eat!!! (fat kid at heart)
What is the piece of running gear/food/drink that you cannot go without?
Shoes or Hylete headband. Currently using Science in Sport, probably try scratch soon.
What is your favorite running moment or running quote?
Having a strong finish! “Slowly getting faster” (what I tell myself)
Describe your running before HRL and after.
Injury ridden. Had severe I.T. band syndrome, and gained a lot of weight. Always over-trained and re-injured myself. I love the running culture in HRL, much less pain, and constantly improving!
Why does training with Hawaii Running Lab work for you?
Coach is super knowledgeable, and full of energy. Practices what he preaches, and always willing to help! Even sold me a bottle of trislide from his private stock!
